This book is a compilation in the truest sense, and neither it nor its companion on chapters four to six, which we trust will be published within the next eighteen months, can be truly called commentaries. They contain only the selections from the files which were the most pithy and full of meat. 
Owing to the recent illness of Lillian Harvey, she is no longer able to produce compilations from the files which she and her husband built up over the years.  Although Lillian is no longer involved personally in this venture, she is delighted to see one of her dreams come true.  It was her longing, as it is ours, that these files would continue to be used and to bear fruit
It is owing to the strenuous efforts of Peggy Black, Beulah Freeman, Jean Ward, and Margaret Smith, all of whom formerly helped Edwin and Lillian Harvey in varying capacities, that this book has been produced.  They have spent long hours gleaning from the files and selecting the choicest nuggets.  We are also indebted to Josie Mear and Joan Henry for the part they played in photocopying from the original and sending copies to those involved in compiling and editing.  Surely the God Who has inspired these ladies to volunteer their time and energy to see this book completed, will finish the work that He  has begun by blessing it to all who read its pages.
